Issue: Selection of New Payroll System
“...and our payroll system cannot handle some of the requirements of our style of operation. Can you recommend a payroll system suitable for a small group of nursing homes? We have 20 weekly paid and 68 monthly paid staff.”
The outcome:
As we are Independent Payroll consultants we were unable to directly recommend a single payroll system. However, by using our tried and tested frameworks, we were able to assess our client’s needs and priorities and draw up a ‘List of requirements’ against which he could measure not only software suppliers but also service providers. Once our client had met with his selected potential suppliers we held further discussions which meant he felt confident to make an informed choice.
Our client had inherited some problems with the completeness and integrity of his payroll data and fully understood our recommendation that transferring problems to a new system was inadvisable. We supported a member of his staff during this process. Total time spent was one and a half days. The first run on the new system was perfect and the client felt his money had been well spent!
